BIKE INITIATIVES - SPAIN
Seville - 10 - Copenhagenize Index 2015 From a cycling modal share of 0.5% in 2006, Seville managed to increase that to 7% modal share in 2013. 80 km of bicycle infrastructure was completed in just one year. Their bike share system played an equal role in bringing cycling back. Seville has slipped to a respectable tenth place from a lofty fourth (Index 2013). Simply because the status quo seems to have slowed the development pace. Shooting for 15% or more shouldn't be a problem and should be a priority. The region of Andalusia in which Seville is located is looking at copying the success and hopes to roll out an impressive regional network of cycling infrastructure for transport.
